The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has directed State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, agencies, commissions, and licensed Hajj tour operators to remit Hajj fares by October 8, 2025, ahead of preparations for the 2026 pilgrimage.
The Commission explained that the deadline was in line with the operational calendar of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, which stipulates strict timelines for contracting services and registering pilgrims.
In a statement issued on Sunday, NAHCON’s Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, Fatima Usara, noted that Saudi authorities had fixed September 6–23, 2025, for contracting and payment for Mashair (camps) and September 23–24, 2025, for transportation and accommodation services.
She added that the Saudi Ministry had also set October 12, 2025, as the final date for pilgrim registration and submission of data on the Nusuk platform.
“Consequently, the Commission fixed 8th October 2025 as the deadline for States Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies, and Commissions, as well as licensed Hajj Tour Operators, to remit Hajj fares for the 2026 Hajj exercise,” Usara stated.
According to her, NAHCON Chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Usman, along with Commissioners and the Commission’s Secretary, Dr. Mustapha Ali, will travel to Saudi Arabia on Monday, September 22, to finalise agreements with service providers.
Usara stressed that early compliance was necessary to ensure a smooth exercise for Nigerian pilgrims.
“We urge all stakeholders to meet the October 8 deadline. Adhering to these timelines is crucial for seamless arrangements and the overall success of the pilgrimage,” she said.
