The Nigerian Air Force has eliminated over 25 terrorists in a coordinated night airstrike along Bula in Yobe State and the Banki axis of Borno State.
This was revealed in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
According to Ejodame, the mission was carried out on September 18 after credible intelligence was provided by ground forces.
He explained that a combination of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance platforms and strike aircraft monitored the terrorists’ movement and spotted multiple clusters north of Banki.
Real-time intelligence, he noted, was shared with base operations and ground troops, paving the way for a synchronized assault.
“The strike aircraft engaged the terrorists in three successive precision strikes on their movement routes and assembly areas, effectively neutralising more than 25 fighters.
“Post-strike surveillance confirmed ground forces remained in defensive positions, with no further threats observed,” he said.
Ejodame stressed that the successful operation highlighted NAF’s firm backing of ground operations, its effort to restrict terrorist mobility, and its steadfast commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s North-East.
