NBA icon, Michael Jordan, is set to benefit financially following Paris Saint-Germain’s latest UEFA Champions League success, with reports suggesting a significant boost in merchandise sales could translate into millions for the former basketball star.
Paris Saint-Germain made history by becoming the first team in eight years to defend the Champions League title after defeating Arsenal.
Luis Enrique’s side came from a goal down to draw 1-1 at the Puskás Arena before securing victory on penalties in a tense final.
The surge in demand for PSG merchandise following the triumph is expected to directly impact Jordan’s earnings due to his long-standing commercial partnership with the club.
His iconic “Jumpman” logo has featured on PSG kits since their collaboration began in 2018, marking the French side as the first football club to partner with the basketball legend’s brand.
Jordan’s brand operates as part of Nike’s wider structure, and under the royalty agreement he receives around five per cent of sales generated from products carrying his logo.
That arrangement has already proven lucrative over the years, with PSG’s growing global fanbase continuing to drive strong kit sales.
Although Nike branding was prominent on PSG’s Champions League final kit, the Jordan logo has been used on selected fourth and fifth kits this season, typically reserved for high-profile Ligue 1 fixtures and major European nights.
Following the victory, fans have already begun purchasing PSG’s limited “Back2Back” edition jersey, with further sales expected as demand rises ahead of the release of next season’s official kits.
