Man Utd’s Onana agrees to join Trabzonspor

André Onana is set to leave Manchester United temporarily, as Turkish club Trabzonspor has emerged as his likely destination.

Although the summer transfer window in England has closed, Turkey’s transfer window remains open until September 12 (Friday), giving Onana the opportunity to complete a move to the Super Lig in the coming days.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Onana has agreed to join Trabzonspor on a season-long loan, with both Manchester United and the Turkish side close to finalizing the deal.

The goalkeeper is preparing to travel to Turkey for a medical ahead of his move, with the Super Lig club not expected to have an option to make the transfer permanent next summer.

“André Onana agrees to join Trabzonspor, here we go!

“All contracts are now signed on player side, waiting on counter approval from Trabzonspor and travel next week.

“Deal done on loan from Manchester United as revealed on Saturday, no buy option or loan fee,” Romano wrote on X.

Onana’s position at United has grown increasingly uncertain following the club’s deadline-day signing of Senne Lammens.

The Reds secured Lammens from Royal Antwerp for an initial £18.2 million, a move that appears to have opened the door for Onana to depart Old Trafford this month.
