London court confirms Poco Lee’s September 15 assault hearing

A London court has confirmed that Nigerian dancer and hypeman, Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, is scheduled to appear before the Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, 2026, over an alleged assault.

The court confirmed the development in correspondence with The PUNCH following an inquiry about the case.

According to James Baker, the court’s Admin Team Lead, the matter has been listed for plea and trial preparation on the scheduled date.

He said, “I can confirm that this case is currently listed at Snaresbrook Crown Court for plea and trial preparation on the 15th September 2026.”

Baker added that details of the exact time and courtroom would only be made available shortly before the hearing.

He said, “Criminal Court hearings are open to the public. Precise times and courtroom information will not be available until the day before the hearing.”

The confirmation follows claims by the founder of the Community of Nigerians in the United Kingdom, Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as Oluomo of Derby, that Poco Lee was being held in a UK prison and expected to appear in court in September.

Kuti had said he was familiar with the development because he regularly attends court proceedings and assists Nigerians involved in legal matters in the United Kingdom.

“I can confirm that the reports are true. Poco Lee is currently on remand in a UK prison. His next court date is scheduled for the second week of September, when he is expected to have a plea hearing,” he said.

He explained that the hearing would ordinarily provide an opportunity for the accused to enter a guilty or not-guilty plea.

Kuti also said he intended to attend the proceedings as part of his support for members of the Nigerian community in the UK.

The court’s confirmation has now established that Poco Lee is expected to appear before the Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15 for plea and trial preparation in connection with the assault allegation.
