Osasuna and Rayo Vallecano played out a 1-1 draw in La Liga on Saturday, with Ante Budimir putting the hosts ahead before Sergio Camello restored parity after the break.
Osasuna took the lead in the 16th minute when Budimir found the net with a left-footed finish into the top-right corner at Estadio El Sadar.
Rayo dominated possession during the opening half but struggled to turn their control into clear-cut opportunities, as Osasuna maintained a compact shape and looked to threaten on the counter.
The visitors eventually found their equaliser five minutes after the restart.
Adrià Pedrosa advanced down the left before delivering for Camello, who calmly finished with his left foot to make it 1-1.
Rayo continued to control much of the game, finishing with 63 per cent possession and 19 attempts compared to Osasuna’s nine.
However, the hosts were more accurate with their efforts on target, recording three to Rayo’s two.
Osasuna also posed a threat inside the penalty area, with eight of their nine attempts coming from inside the box, while Rayo attempted 13 shots from outside the area.
Neither side could find a winning goal in the closing stages despite changes from both benches, as the points were shared at the final whistle.
The result reflected a contest in which Rayo enjoyed greater possession and attacking volume, while Osasuna remained dangerous through their more direct approach.
