Barcelona continued their impressive start to the La Liga season with a commanding 5-0 victory over Valencia at Mestalla on Sunday.
The defending champions dominated from the opening minutes, creating several clear-cut opportunities before taking a deserved lead through teenage forward Lamine Yamal.
Fermín López then doubled Barcelona’s advantage with a powerful finish as the visitors took a two-goal lead into half-time.
Valencia struggled to contain Barcelona after the restart, with the Catalan side maintaining relentless pressure.
Raphinha added the third goal after being set up by Fermín, putting the result beyond doubt.
Pedri later increased the lead following a neat combination with Dani Olmo, before Yamal completed the rout with his second goal of the afternoon.
Barcelona could have scored even more, but Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski produced several important saves to limit the damage.
The visitors also had to cope with an injury to Eric Garcia, who was forced off following a collision with Rodri and was replaced during the first half.
The emphatic victory means Barcelona have now won all four of their opening league matches and moved three points clear at the top of the table.
Yamal and Fermín were among the standout performers as Hansi Flick’s side produced another dominant attacking display.
