Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have reportedly ended their nearly ten-year relationship, marking the conclusion of one of Hollywood’s most high-profile romances.

A source close to the couple confirmed the split to Us Weekly on Wednesday, stating, “Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable.” While the breakup is not contentious, Perry, 40, is said to be understandably upset, though relieved to avoid another divorce—a chapter she has previously described as the lowest point of her life. According to the insider, tensions had been building for months, making the separation “a long time coming.”

The couple’s challenges appear to stem from multiple factors, including Perry’s demanding schedule on her “Lifetimes” tour, which runs through December 7. The singer has been coping by immersing herself in work, with the source noting she’s “keeping busy” and “distracted” while traveling.

Perry and Bloom, 48, own two properties in Montecito, California. While they had initially planned to make their Westcott home their family base, they have been living apart since her tour began. Perry has since rented out the Westcott home, with the couple primarily residing in their other Montecito estate.

Despite the split, Bloom recently joined Perry in Perth, Australia, with their 4-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove (born August 26, 2020), suggesting an effort to maintain a civil co-parenting relationship. Bloom also shares a son, Flynn, with his ex-wife, model Miranda Kerr.

A significant factor in their rift was the underwhelming reception of Perry’s latest album, 143. A source told People that Perry was “deeply frustrated” by the album’s lukewarm response, which created “tension” with Bloom. “It made her very stressed. Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension,” the insider explained.

Another source told Us Weekly that the couple had been “on the rocks” earlier this month and planned to formalize their split after Perry’s tour concludes. Their conflicting schedules—Perry’s global tour and Bloom’s acting commitments—may have further strained their relationship.

The couple first met in 2016 at a Golden Globes after-party, with Bloom proposing on Valentine’s Day 2019. Their relationship, marked by joyful moments like the birth of Daisy and personal challenges, has long fascinated the public.

Representatives for both Perry and Bloom have yet to comment on the split, leaving room for speculation. Fans are now left wondering how Perry will navigate this personal setback while continuing her tour and how the former couple will manage co-parenting moving forward.

For now, Perry’s focus remains on her music, while Bloom’s recent presence with Daisy suggests a pragmatic approach to their separation. However, the emotional weight of this chapter is undeniable as they move forward separately.
