The management of philanthropist and social media influencer King Mitchy, popularly known as Michelle, has confirmed her death following a medical emergency in Abuja.
In a statement shared on social media, her team said, “We are devastated to announce that our beloved Michelle has passed away. Despite the tireless efforts of medical personnel here in Abuja, her condition was critical, and sadly, she could not be revived. Michi was more than a talent — she was family, full of life, light, and dreams.”
King Mitchy was reportedly rushed to a hospital after ingesting bleach during a live video session. Doctors indicated that her chances of survival were low due to delayed treatment.
The incident also affected her family deeply. Her mother, who was in Lagos at the time, reportedly fainted upon hearing the news and had to be hospitalized for treatment.
Before this tragedy, King Mitchy had recently sparked controversy online after revealing she received financial support from Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for school renovation projects.
Her comments drew criticism from social media users, including activist VeryDarkMan, who questioned the circumstances surrounding the support.
King Mitchy was widely recognized for her philanthropic efforts, particularly initiatives aimed at education and community development.
Her online presence inspired many, and she frequently shared her work supporting vulnerable communities.
Her management urged fans and the public to respect the family’s privacy and keep them in their prayers during this difficult time.
“Please, let us honor her memory by respecting her family and the legacy she leaves behind,” the statement added.
Authorities in have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
