I won’t resign as Real Madrid president – Florentino Perez

Real Madrid President, Florentino Pérez, has moved to calm speculation surrounding his future and health, firmly rejecting claims that he could step down amid what has been described as an institutional and sporting crisis at Real Madrid.

Speaking during a highly anticipated press conference, the long-serving club chief addressed growing rumours suggesting internal instability and even a possible resignation.

He dismissed the narratives as exaggerated and unfounded, insisting that he remains fully committed to his role at the helm of both the club and his wider business interests.

Responding directly to the criticism and speculation, he said, “An absurd situation has been created against Real Madrid and against me,” as he pushed back against what he described as sustained negative pressure following a difficult period for the team.

He also confronted false reports circulating about his wellbeing, firmly denying any serious medical condition.

“Some people say I am sick, that I have terminal cancer. My health is perfect,” the executive declared, seeking to put the rumours to rest.

Despite mounting scrutiny linked to recent underwhelming performances and reported tensions within the squad, Pérez maintained that he has no intention of leaving his post.

“I am not going to resign,” the Real Madrid president stated clearly, reaffirming his leadership position.

He further noted that the club’s electoral process will soon be activated, with the current administration expected to participate again, signalling continuity rather than change.

The comments come at a sensitive moment for the Spanish giants, as uncertainty continues to swirl around the team’s direction on and off the pitch, even as the president projects stability and confidence in the club’s future.
