National Women’s Soccer League outfit, Houston Dash, have extended their congratulations to Super Falcons defender, Michelle Alozie, following her nomination for the FIFPRO Women’s World XI.
Alozie was revealed among the 26 players shortlisted for the prestigious global honour.
The list also features Zambia’s Barbara Banda, the reigning African Women’s Player of the Year.
Reacting to the recognition, Houston Dash posted on their official X account, “Congratulations to @alozieee for being named to the @FIFPRO Women’s World XI shortlist.”
Alozie is presently in camp with the Super Falcons as they prepare to face Benin Republic in the second leg of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final qualifying round in Abeokuta on Tuesday.
Nigeria head into the return fixture with a 2-0 aggregate advantage from the first leg, thanks to goals from Chiwendu Ihezuo and Esther Okoronkwo.
Alozie, who was part of the Falcons squad that captured a record 10th WAFCON title in Morocco, will be looking to help the team secure qualification for next year’s tournament, which also serves as a pathway to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The Houston Dash star also played a key role at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, where Nigeria advanced to the round of 16.
