The Ghana Football Association has relieved Otto Addo of his duties as head coach of the Black Stars.
The decision came just hours after Ghana suffered a 2-1 defeat to Germany in their second international friendly of March.
Following the loss, the GFA, the Sports Ministry, and Addo held an emergency meeting to determine the future of the team’s gaffer.
“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has parted ways with the Head Coach of the senior men’s national team (Black Stars), Otto Addo, effective immediately,” the statement read.
“The Association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours.”
The GFA added that details regarding the Black Stars’ new technical leadership would be announced in due course.
Ghana is scheduled to face Mexico and Wales in May for their final World Cup preparatory matches ahead of the tournament in North America this June and July.
