Galatasaray, Napoli reach €75m deal for Osimhen move

Galatasaray have successfully reached a full agreement with Napoli to sign Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, on a permanent basis, following his outstanding loan spell in the 2024/25 season.

Osimhen, who joined the Turkish giants on loan last summer, lit up the Süper Lig with 37 goals and eight assists in 41 appearances under manager Okan Buruk, becoming a fan favourite and one of Europe’s most prolific forwards.

Galatasaray, determined to make his stay permanent, have now activated the €75 million release clause in the forward’s contract.

While the Istanbul-based club quickly showed willingness to meet the fee, talks with Napoli were prolonged due to disagreements over payment structure and required financial guarantees.

Those hurdles have now been cleared, with Napoli set to receive €40 million upfront. The remaining €35 million will be paid in full by the end of 2026.

Additionally, the deal includes €5 million in performance-related bonuses, along with a 10% sell-on clause in favour of the Italian side.

Notably, the agreement features a rare “anti-Serie A clause,” which prevents Osimhen from joining any of Napoli’s direct domestic rivals within the next two years, an apparent move to protect the Partenopei’s competitive interests.

The deal represents a major coup for Galatasaray, who have now secured the services of one of Africa’s brightest attacking talents on a long-term basis.
