French tennis star Arthur Fils eyes world No. 1 spot

French tennis star, Arthur Fils, has set his sights on reaching the pinnacle of the sport, expressing his determination to become world No. 1.

The 21-year-old has emerged as one of the most impressive performers on the ATP Tour in recent months, positioning himself among the few players seen as capable of mounting a challenge to Jannik Sinner’s growing dominance at the top.

Fils has recorded 20 victories in his last 24 matches, with three of his defeats coming against top-four ranked opponents, underlining both his consistency and his competitiveness against elite opposition.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of his debut at the Italian Open, Fils stated that he’s working hard to become the world No. 1.

“I still believe in it, yes. I know it will require a lot of work, many difficulties, and it will be a long road, but I really hope to become the World No. 1 someday,” said Fils in a press conference ahead of his debut at the Italian Open.

“Since I was little, I have been doing all of this to become the World No. 1,” he insisted. “It’s not easy, and it certainly won’t be. But if I work hard… why not believe? It is beautiful to believe.”
