The Federal Government has announced Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, as public holidays to commemorate the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, marking the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, extending congratulations to Muslim faithful for successfully completing the fasting period.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Magdalene Ajani, the minister urged Muslims to uphold the values imbibed during Ramadan.

“I congratulate all Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast. I urge you to sustain the virtues of love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice that were emphasised during the holy month,” Tunji-Ojo said.
