Ex-Nigeria squash champion Olubo completes three-continent motorcycle journey

Former Nigerian squash number one, Moses Olubo, is set to return to Nigeria on Wednesday after completing an extraordinary motorcycle expedition spanning three continents.

Olubo undertook the journey on a Can-Am Spyder motorcycle, travelling from the United States through Canada, Iceland, Scandinavia and Western Europe before making his way across the Sahara and through the challenging Fouta Jallon Highlands en route to Nigeria.

The former squash star is expected to be welcomed by friends, sports enthusiasts and supporters at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, where a meet-and-greet has been scheduled for 2pm.

Organisers have described Olubo as a “3-Continent Adventurer”, a description that reflects the scale and demanding nature of his journey.

However, his exact arrival time was uncertain due to difficulties encountered while travelling through Ghana on a motorcycle that is not registered under the ECOWAS system.

As of Tuesday, Olubo was reportedly working to complete his exit from Ghana, with the remaining journey to Lagos expected to be less challenging.

His remarkable adventure has generated considerable excitement among friends and admirers, with calls for Nigerians, especially members of the sporting community, to turn out in large numbers to give him a memorable reception.

The Lagos gathering will also offer sports lovers an opportunity to reconnect with the former squash star and celebrate an expedition that combined his sporting background with endurance, exploration and adventure across three continents.
