Chelsea head coach, Enzo Maresca, has given his squad a timely boost ahead of Saturday’s Premier League encounter with Aston Villa, confirming that both Estevao Willian and Liam Delap are fit and ready for selection.
Delap is back in contention after shaking off the shoulder injury he picked up during Chelsea’s draw with Bournemouth on December 6, an issue that initially raised fears of a prolonged absence for the £30 million striker.
Estevao’s return is equally encouraging for Maresca. The Brazilian has been sidelined since making a late cameo in the Blues’ 2-0 victory over Everton on December 13, but is now fully available again.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Maresca expressed his satisfaction at having the duo back in the squad following the Christmas period.
“He’s back. He’s back, he’s available for Saturday, him and also Liam Delap.
“We didn’t know exactly for how long he (Delap) needed to be out, but as I said, he’s available for Saturday, he’s available also Estevao, so very happy for both.”
