Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has questioned the delay in uploading results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Result Viewing Portal, IReV.
The singer raised the concern in a series of posts on his X account on Saturday, urging INEC to ensure transparency and provide voters with timely updates on the results.
“INEC, it is now 2:33 p.m., yet no result has been uploaded to the IReV portal. What is the delay? Nigerians deserve transparency and timely updates,” he wrote.
Davido also called on voters to remain at their polling units until the results from their respective units were uploaded to IReV and the figures recorded on the electronic EC8A result form.
“Make sure your polling unit results are uploaded on IReV in your presence and make sure the figures are entered on eEC8A (electronic EC8A). We will follow our votes bumper to bumper!” he said.
He further encouraged voters to photograph the result sheets from their polling units and forward them to a WhatsApp number provided in his post.
“Don’t leave your polling unit until it is being uploaded on the IReV, protect your vote now,” he added.
In a separate post, Davido addressed concerns about malfunctioning cameras on the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System devices, claiming that officials could resort to using the front camera when the main camera was not functioning.
He described the front camera as “very active and fast.”
Davido, who is a nephew of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has publicly campaigned for his uncle, who is seeking another term in office on the platform of the Accord Party.
The Osun governorship election is being held across the state on Saturday, with voters choosing the next governor of the state.
