Cucurella’s barber leaked Chelsea team news before Brighton clash

LMarc Cucurella’s barber has unexpectedly been dragged into a Chelsea team news storm after reportedly revealing key injury updates ahead of their clash with Brighton, according to The Sun.

In a post on X, the barber shared what appeared to be inside information, writing: “Palmer & Joao Pedro both injured. There’s your exclusive” alongside an image of Cucurella receiving a haircut.

Shockingly, the claims were later validated when neither player featured in the matchday squad.

Cole Palmer was ruled out of Chelsea’s trip due to a hamstring injury, dealing a significant setback to the club’s hopes of securing Champions League qualification.

The 23-year-old England international, who wears the No.10 shirt, did not travel with the team to the south coast. Earlier concerns about his fitness were confirmed when he was not seen disembarking from the team bus.

Palmer had played the full 90 minutes in Chelsea’s previous outing against Manchester United on Saturday, making his absence even more notable.

The situation adds to Chelsea’s ongoing issues with leaked team news this season.

On two occasions in their fixtures against PSG, starting line-ups were revealed ahead of time, with Liam Rosenior previously insisting the source was external to the dressing room rather than a player.

However, this latest incident may make such explanations harder to maintain.

The timing of Palmer’s injury could not be worse for a Chelsea side struggling badly in front of goal.

Their attacking woes were again exposed in a 3-0 defeat to Brighton, a result that saw them slip further down the table to seventh place.
