Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly in discussions with two Spanish clubs over a potential share purchase.
The football icon is exploring investment opportunities with Segunda Division side Almeria, who are pushing for promotion back to La Liga.
Almeria, currently sixth in Spain’s second tier with two games remaining, are set to enter the promotion playoffs. Levante and Elche lead the division and will secure automatic promotion, while Almeria must fight for their place in the top flight.
Ronaldo’s future at Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr remains uncertain as his contract nears its end. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has reportedly received offers from Brazil, Turkey, and his boyhood club Sporting CP.
Businessman Mohamed Al-Khereiji, who facilitated Ronaldo’s move to Saudi Arabia in December 2022, recently acquired Almeria through a Saudi investment group. According to Marca (via Football Espana), this connection could pave the way for Ronaldo to invest in the club—but only if they secure promotion to La Liga after last season’s relegation.
The 2024-25 campaign has been trophyless for Ronaldo, with Al-Nassr exiting the AFC Champions League and sitting third in the domestic league. Some analysts suggest he may not renew his Saudi contract due to the club’s struggles in attracting top talent and competing for major honors.
