Como president, Mirwan Suwarso, has said the club will not obstruct Cesc Fàbregas if he chooses to take up the vacant managerial role at Chelsea.
Chelsea are in the market for a new head coach after parting ways with Liam Rosenior on Wednesday, with Calum McFarlane currently placed in interim charge until the end of the season as the club continues its search.
Fàbregas, who is currently involved in coaching at Como, has emerged as one of the names linked with the Stamford Bridge job following Rosenior’s departure.
His growing reputation in management has reportedly caught the attention of the Chelsea hierarchy.
Addressing the speculation, Suwarso made it clear that Como would not stand in the way if the former Spain international decides to leave for a return to London.
“If that makes him happy, that’s him,” Suwarso told City AM.
“You want your employees to stay with you for as long as possible but at the end of the day we don’t own him and he’s free to go to Chelsea if he wishes.
“Business is business, ideas are ideas.
“We have to see things in a way that makes sense, right? It’s common sense.”
