Chelsea’s Neto excited to face Mourinho’s Benfica in UCL clash

Chelsea winger, Pedro Neto, has expressed excitement at the prospect of facing José Mourinho ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League showdown with Benfica.

Mourinho, who recently returned to Portuguese football as Benfica’s manager, will be on the opposite touchline as Chelsea seek to recover from recent disappointments.

Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, Neto emphasized the personal significance of the encounter.

“As a Portuguese player, it’s a real honor to play against Mourinho,” Neto said. “What he represents, not just to the club, but to Portuguese football and the players he has inspired to succeed around the world, is immense. We’re eager to face Benfica, and it’s a great chance for us to bounce back.”

Neto continued, “You cannot overlook what he has achieved. The respect he commands in Portugal, alongside icons like Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Figo, speaks volumes.

“Anyone would feel privileged to be managed by Mourinho, he is one of the biggest names in Portuguese football, and Benfica brought him in for exactly that reason.”
