Chelsea place Sterling, Nkunku, Jackson, six others for sale, loan

Raheem Sterling is among nine players Chelsea are actively looking to offload before the transfer window closes.

The 30-year-old winger endured a frustrating loan spell at Arsenal last season and still has two years left on his £325,000-a-week deal at Stamford Bridge.

According to The Telegraph (via Daily Mail), both player and club are seeking a permanent resolution to his future, though a loan switch has not been ruled out.

Sterling is part of a major late-window clear-out, with Chelsea also working on possible departures for Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Renato Veiga, Axel Disasi, Carney Chukwuemeka, Ben Chilwell, and academy product Tyrique George. Argentine defender Aaron Anselmino is attracting interest from European clubs as well.

The Blues expect to generate close to £300 million in sales by deadline day, which would bring their net summer spending close to zero.

Fulham have already registered interest in Sterling, who would prefer to remain in London with his family.

West Ham and Crystal Palace are also monitoring the situation, while other Premier League sides and foreign clubs remain in the mix.

New Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has made it clear Sterling is not in his plans, with the winger notably absent from the club’s official first-team page.

Sterling, who joined from Manchester City for £47.5m in 2022, has struggled to recapture his best form in recent years and now looks set for the exit door.
