Chelsea defender Hato eager for Alonso’s Stamford Bridge era

Chelsea defender, Jorrel Hato, has expressed his excitement over the appointment of Xabi Alonso as the new Chelsea manager, after the club officially confirmed him on a four-year contract.

Following Chelsea’s 2–1 win over Tottenham Hotspur, Hato, speaking to the club’s website, said he is looking forward to working under Alonso and believes the club made the right decision in bringing him in.

The appointment of Alonso was recently confirmed by Chelsea as part of a major managerial change, with the former midfielder set to take charge on a long-term deal following the departure of previous coaching staff.

Hato also praised the decision to appoint Alonso, highlighting his achievements and reputation in the game.

“I think Chelsea made a good decision to get Xabi Alonso. I’m excited, I knew him as a player and watched him growing up at Liverpool and Real Madrid,” he said.

“He did very well at Leverkusen too, and they became champions, and he was at Madrid. He’s a big name, so I’m very excited.

“I’ve played in a back three and a back four, for me I don’t care about where I want to play. I just want to play.”

Xabi Alonso’s arrival is seen as a significant step for Chelsea as the club begins a new managerial era under his leadership.
