Canadian tennis sensation, Victoria Mboko, has said capturing a Grand Slam title or rising to world number one would be nothing short of a blessing in her career.
The teenager has been one of the biggest revelations of the 2025 season. Starting the year ranked No. 333, she stormed into the world’s top 100 after a breakthrough run at Roland-Garros and now sits comfortably inside the top 25, following her dream triumph on home soil.
Mboko etched her name in history at the 2025 Canadian Open, rallying from a set down to stun four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka in the final and secure her maiden WTA title.
Reflecting on her meteoric rise, the youngster told Tennis World that she is determined to keep pushing towards the game’s biggest prizes.
“There are so many milestones I hope to achieve,” Mboko said.
“Winning a Grand Slam or becoming world number one would always be a huge blessing. I understand there’s a process to it, and sometimes opportunities come earlier than expected.
“Every day I work on improving, both on and off the court. For me, it’s important to dream big, and hopefully, one day that dream will include lifting a Grand Slam trophy.”
