Former Big Brother Africa housemate, Bayo Okoh, has died.
His death was announced on Saturday by media personality Matilda Duncan, who shared photographs of the former reality television star on social media while breaking the news.
Duncan did not reveal the cause or circumstances surrounding Okoh’s death.
Reacting to his passing, the media personality expressed concern over what she described as the increasing number of deaths within the entertainment industry.
“Please God, what is happening? This is too much—one death after another. I am so sorry. This part is called death. It’s the worst,” she wrote.
Okoh’s death has since sparked reactions from fans and social media users, who recalled his appearance on the pan-African reality television programme.
He represented Nigeria in the second season of Big Brother Africa, which featured contestants from across the continent.
Okoh, an economist, was the only Nigerian housemate in the season and spent 91 days in the competition before being evicted.
He finished seventh among the 12 contestants, with records from the show identifying him as a 28-year-old economist at the time.
The season, which ran for 106 days, featured representatives from 12 African countries, with Zambia’s Cherise Makubale emerging as the winner.
As of press time, Okoh’s family had yet to issue an official statement on his death or disclose the cause of his passing.
