Spanish giants, Barcelona, have reportedly included Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, among their potential targets to strengthen their attack.
According to Spanish journalist, Gabriel Sans of Mundo Deportivo, the reigning La Liga champions are closely following the Napoli star’s situation as they prepare for future transitions in their frontline.
Barcelona are expected to make a move for a new centre-forward ahead of the 2026/27 season, with Robert Lewandowski’s contract nearing its expiration.
The Polish forward’s renewal appears uncertain, prompting sporting director Deco and the club’s management to intensify their search for a long-term replacement.
Amid this process, Osimhen’s name has surfaced as a serious candidate. Speaking to Turkish outlet Radyospor (via Get Spanish Football), Gabriel Sans shed light on Barcelona’s growing admiration for the Super Eagles striker:
“Barcelona needs a very good centre-forward and is looking for one for next season. It’s not guaranteed whether Lewandowski will stay on. He’s 37 years old and currently injured, so it’s unknown how he’ll return.
“From this perspective, Victor Osimhen is a player Barcelona wants. That’s certain, but there have been no meetings, no discussions between the parties, and no negotiations. Osimhen is definitely on Barcelona’s transfer list today, but we need to look at Lewandowski’s situation.
“We don’t know how his future at the club will shape up. Osimhen is all about goals and success. Yes… Barcelona is keeping a close eye on him.”
Osimhen, one of Europe’s most prolific strikers, has continued to attract interest from several top clubs, and Barcelona’s monitoring only adds to the growing speculation surrounding his future.
