FC Barcelona has officially entered the race to host the 2029 UEFA Champions League final, confirming that it has submitted a formal bid to European football’s governing body, UEFA.

The La Liga club announced that all required documentation has already been delivered, putting its renovated Spotify Camp Nou forward as a candidate venue for the prestigious final.

According to the club, the submission satisfies UEFA’s full technical, logistical and infrastructure conditions, with the project also backed by key regional authorities, including the Barcelona City Council and the Government of Catalonia, alongside support from the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

In its official statement, Barcelona said, “Barcelona, together with Barcelona City Council, the Government of Catalonia and with the support of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), as host and co-organising association, has formally submitted to UEFA the bid and complete dossier to apply for hosting the 2029 UEFA Champions League Final,” Barcelona stated.

“With the submission of this dossier, the formal bidding process is completed. From this point onwards, UEFA will begin the evaluation phase of the different proposals submitted to determine which venue will be selected to host the 2029 Champions League final.

“The bid highlights Barcelona as a city with proven experience in hosting major international events and the Spotify Camp Nou as a world-class stadium.

“With a long-standing history linked to the biggest stages of international football and currently undergoing a profound transformation that will position it among the most modern, innovative and iconic sporting venues in the world, the Spotify Camp Nou meets all the conditions to become the ideal stage for a UEFA Champions League final. The venue has historically been recognised by UEFA as a top-category stadium and is the largest in Europe by capacity.
