Bad Bunny to headline at Super Bowl LX halftime show

Puerto Rican global icon, Bad Bunny, is set to headline the world’s biggest sporting spectacle, the Super Bowl halftime show.

The National Football Conference confirmed on Sunday that the three-time Grammy Award winner will take center stage at Super Bowl LX, scheduled for February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California in the United States.

In a statement, the singer, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, framed the moment as one far larger than personal glory.

“This is bigger than me. It’s for those who paved the way, who ran the yards before I ever touched the field. It’s for my people, my culture, and our history,” he said.

The announcement comes at the peak of Bad Bunny’s career. Fresh off a record-breaking two-month residency at San Juan’s Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot, capped by a concert streamed live on Amazon, the artist has fueled an economic surge on the island, generating hundreds of millions in tourism revenue.

“Benito’s contribution to Puerto Rico and to Latin music is extraordinary,” said Jay-Z, whose Roc Nation produces the halftime show in partnership with the NFL and Apple Music. “We’re proud to have him bring that spirit to the biggest stage in the world.”

Apple Music’s Vice President, Oliver Schusser, hailed Bad Bunny’s meteoric rise and cultural impact, noting that he has pushed Latin music to the forefront of global pop culture.

The halftime spotlight is expected to catapult his influence even further. The NFL highlighted how last year’s Kendrick Lamar performance drew record-breaking viewership, earning four Emmy nominations and securing a win for Outstanding Music Direction.

Meanwhile, Bad Bunny is preparing to launch a worldwide tour in November, spanning Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.

The artist has chosen not to schedule U.S. dates, citing concerns over potential Immigration and Customs Enforcement interventions at venues.

From Puerto Rico to the global stage, the Super Bowl performance marks another defining chapter in Bad Bunny’s already trailblazing journey.
