Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, has been recognised by Nottingham Forest after reaching 100 appearances for the Premier League club.
The 28-year-old was presented with a commemorative shirt during Friday’s training session as teammates and club officials celebrated the achievement.
Awoniyi reached the milestone in Forest’s impressive 3-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge two weeks ago, where he scored a brace for Vítor Pereira’s men.
Speaking after receiving the special shirt, Awoniyi thanked his teammates for their support throughout the campaign.
“Thank you guys. This would not have been possible without you guys. For all you have done this season, for where we are, for keeping the team in the Premier League,” the forward said.
The Nigerian international has recorded four goals and one assist in 15 league outings for the Tricky Trees this season.
Awoniyi joined Forest from Bundesliga side Union Berlin in 2022.
