Awoniyi dropped, Aina named in Nottingham Forest’s Europa squad

Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, has been left out of Nottingham Forest’s squad for the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League campaign.

The Nigerian forward was omitted as Forest officially released their squad list for the competition.

In contrast, his international teammate Ola Aina secured a spot on the roster.

Among the notable names who made the cut are Chris Wood, Neco Williams, Morgan Gibbs-White, Douglas Luiz, and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Forest are set to face tough opposition in the league phase, including Midtjylland, FC Porto, Malmo, Ferencvaros, Braga, Utrecht, Sturm Graz, and Real Betis.

While Aina is currently with the Super Eagles preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa, Awoniyi has been left out of both club and national team duties.
