Super Eagles forward, Tolu Arokodare, has expressed his appreciation to Wolverhampton Wanderers fans despite the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
Wolves will drop to the Championship after seven seasons in the Premier League, having earned promotion in the 2017/18 campaign.
The Old Gold endured a difficult season, finishing bottom of the table with just 20 points after managing only three wins and suffering 24 defeats.
However, they showed flashes of improvement in the second half of the campaign, including notable performances against champions Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Liverpool.
Arokodare reflects on difficult campaign
The Nigeria international took to his official Instagram page to reflect on the season and appreciate the fans for their continued support.
“A tough season for all of us, but feeling your support while you stuck with us this season is something I don’t take for granted. I’ve had some great personal moments and it makes me proud to have shared them with you all,” Arokodare wrote.
“Thanks for your support Wolves, see you next season.”
Despite Wolves’ struggles, Arokodare emerged as one of the few positives in the squad. He finished the Premier League campaign as the club’s joint top scorer with three goals, and registered six goals and two assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.
The 25-year-old joined Wolves from Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk last summer, arriving after an impressive spell that saw him score 41 goals and provide 12 assists in 113 appearances for the Belgian club.
He has since attracted transfer interest, with Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor reportedly monitoring his situation ahead of a potential move away from Molineux.
