Alex Ferguson taken to hospital before Man Utd, Liverpool clash

Legendary Alex Ferguson was taken to hospital on Sunday after feeling unwell ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Liverpool.

The former United boss had arrived at Old Trafford for the high-profile encounter but departed before kickoff due to health concerns.

According to a source familiar with the situation, the 84-year-old was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure and is understood to be in stable condition. The individual, who requested anonymity, was not authorized to speak publicly.

Ferguson, who suffered a brain hemorrhage in 2018 and underwent emergency surgery before recovering, remains a regular presence at United’s home matches.

He had earlier been seen at the stadium and shared in photos circulating on social media.

Widely regarded as one of football’s greatest managers, Ferguson enjoyed an extraordinary 26-and-a-half-year spell at United, winning 13 Premier League titles and two UEFA Champions League trophies among a total of 28 major honours.

He stepped down in 2013 after securing his final league crown.
