AFCON: S’Eagles, Uganda clash will be tough, says coach Put

Uganda head coach, Paul Put, has acknowledged the tough challenge awaiting his team as they face Nigeria in their final group match at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Cranes will take on Éric Chelle’s Super Eagles on Tuesday, knowing that a win is essential if they hope to advance to the Round of 16.

Uganda has collected just one point from their opening two matches against Tunisia and Tanzania.

Nigeria, on the other hand, has already secured a place in the knockout stage and requires only a draw to finish atop Group C.

Put admitted that overcoming the Super Eagles will be no easy feat but urged his players to remain resilient.

“I told the players we must keep believing and fight until the last game. We are disappointed, but we have to reset and prepare for Nigeria. It won’t be easy,” he said ahead of the clash.
