Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bolaji Ogunmola has expressed gratitude to Nigerians who stood by her following her recent experience with United Nigeria Airlines, describing the outpouring of support as overwhelming and deeply reassuring.
In a video shared on her Instagram page on Friday, January 9, Ogunmola thanked fans, colleagues, and well-wishers who reached out through calls, messages, and other forms of assistance after she publicly raised concerns over the airline’s handling of her travel.
“Thank you so much to everyone who reached out, who sent messages, who called, and who offered help. God bless you all. I’m deeply, deeply grateful,” she said.
The actress also acknowledged the role played by individuals and government officials who intervened during the incident, particularly a man she identified as Mr Wale, as well as officials of the Ekiti State Government.
“Thank you so much, Mr Wale. Thank you again. And thank you to the Ekiti State Government, the ADC, the driver, and the security personnel. I am truly grateful,” Ogunmola stated.
She further appreciated bloggers and media organisations for amplifying her concerns, noting that their coverage helped bring public attention to the matter.
Reacting to the airline’s apology, Ogunmola criticised what she described as poor communication with passengers, questioning how tickets and boarding passes could be issued only for flights to be cancelled without clear notice.
“They said they duly communicated, but how do you issue tickets and boarding passes to people and then say you’re not flying again?” she asked.
She also alleged that airline officials failed to inform her of the cancellation even as they took photographs with her at the airport the following day.
Addressing critics who labelled her reaction excessive, Ogunmola said she does not enjoy unnecessary stress, adding that the level of attention generated by the incident took her by surprise.
“I don’t like stress at all, and I didn’t expect the whole thing to blow up the way it did,” she said.
Ogunmola concluded by thanking Nigerians once again for their support, wishing them a happy new year and expressing appreciation for the solidarity shown during the episode.
The actress had earlier called out United Nigeria Airlines after she was reportedly stranded at an airport in Ekiti State for over 24 hours due to repeated flight cancellations and rescheduling.
