LASIMRA gives internet providers one week to remove cable obstructions in Lagos

The Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency has directed Internet Service Providers operating in three locations across the state to immediately clean up their telecommunications infrastructure ahead of an enforcement exercise scheduled for November 9, 2026.

The agency issued the directive in an urgent notice dated November 2, 2026, identifying Ilasan and Ikate, Allen Avenue in Ikeja, and the Customs Office area off Toyin Street, Ikeja, as the affected locations.

LASIMRA said all internet service providers operating within and around the locations must carry out the “immediate cleanup and sanitisation of their telecommunications infrastructure.”

It further directed the operators to ensure that their network infrastructure, including cables and associated installations, are “properly arranged, secured and cleared of any obstruction or environmental nuisance.”
