Bournemouth continued their impressive run of form with a 2-0 victory over Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday, recording their sixth consecutive win in all competitions without conceding a goal.
Evanilson opened the scoring in the 31st minute after capitalising on a costly mistake by Leeds goalkeeper James Trafford, whose poor pass out from the back presented the Brazilian striker with an opportunity he made no mistake in taking.
The visitors had started the encounter brightly and thought they had taken the lead in the 11th minute through Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
However, the goal was ruled out following a VAR review after a handball was identified in the build-up.
Leeds struggled to produce an effective response after falling behind, despite having 10 attempts on goal.
They managed just one shot on target, with their attacking difficulties extending a worrying run that has seen them score only twice in their last five Premier League matches.
Bournemouth, meanwhile, remained organised defensively and ensured their opponents had little opportunity to threaten their goal as Marco Rose’s men maintained their impressive defensive record.
The hosts sealed the victory in stoppage time when Junior Eli Kroupi produced an excellent assist, nutmegging his opponent before setting up Amine Adli, who finished in the 90th+4 minute.
The result means Bournemouth have now defeated Sturm Graz, Sunderland, AC Milan, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Leeds in succession without conceding, underlining their remarkable form.
For Leeds, the defeat extends their winless run in the Premier League to five matches.
