Nations League: Kane shines as England thrash Czech Republic 3-0

England captain, Harry Kane marked his record-equalling 125th international appearance with two goals and an assist as the Three Lions defeated Czech Republic 3-0 in their Nations League clash at Wembley on Tuesday.

Kane equalled former goalkeeper Peter Shilton’s England appearance record, which had stood for 36 years, and played a decisive role in all three goals as Thomas Tuchel’s side ended the international break with another impressive victory.

England took the lead in the 27th minute when Kane’s cross was inadvertently turned into his own net by Czech defender Vladimir Coufal.
Kane then doubled the advantage five minutes before half-time.

Elliot Anderson played the ball forward to Morgan Rogers, who delivered for Kane, with the England captain finding enough space to fire past the goalkeeper.

The Bayern Munich striker came close to adding another shortly after the restart when his long-range effort struck the crossbar, but he eventually got his second goal in the 57th minute.

Kane rose to meet Lewis Hall’s delivery from a corner and headed the ball into the far corner to make it 3-0 and take his international goal tally beyond 90.

The England captain was substituted in the 81st minute for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and received a standing ovation from the Wembley crowd.

The victory means England have now scored 14 goals in four matches during the international break, with three wins from their four games.
