Bulgaria beat Luxembourg 2-0 in Nations League

Bulgaria secured a 2-0 victory over Luxembourg in their Nations League League C Group 4 encounter at the Stade de Luxembourg on Tuesday.

Kristiyan Balov opened the scoring for the visitors in the 19th minute after combining with Emil Tsenov before firing into the Luxembourg net.

Bulgaria doubled their advantage 15 minutes later when Georgi Rusev delivered a cross from the left and Atanas Iliev produced a powerful volley to beat the goalkeeper.

Luxembourg created several opportunities to reduce the deficit, but Bulgaria goalkeeper Daniel Naumov was in impressive form throughout the match.

Naumov made a crucial double save in the 62nd minute, stopping Omar Natami before denying Vincent Thill’s follow-up effort.

He later kept out a powerful attempt from Tomas Moreira.

The hosts continued to push for a goal, but Naumov made another important one-handed save in the 90th minute to preserve Bulgaria’s clean sheet.

The result gave Bulgaria a strong finish to their October Nations League campaign, while Luxembourg were unable to find a way back into the contest.
