Fenerbahce thrash Eyupspor 8-0 in Turkish Super Lig
Fenerbahce produced a dominant display as they thrashed Eyupspor 8-0 in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday.
Vedat Muriqi was the standout performer, scoring four goals in a ruthless attacking display at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
Muriqi opened the scoring in the seventh minute before adding his second in the 21st minute.
Matteo Guendouzi then increased Fenerbahce’s advantage in the 38th minute after combining with Irfan Kahveci.
Kahveci joined the scoring shortly afterwards, netting in the 38th minute before adding another goal in first-half stoppage time to give the hosts a commanding lead at the break.
Fenerbahce continued their assault after the restart, with Muriqi completing his hat-trick in the 47th minute before scoring again eight minutes later to make it four goals for the afternoon.
Mason Greenwood added Fenerbahce’s seventh goal before completing his brace late in the game, sealing an emphatic victory for Ismail Kartal’s side.
Kahveci was also instrumental in the victory, finishing with two goals and two assists, while Fenerbahce kept a clean sheet throughout the contest.
