Nigerian striker Peter Ambrose has completed a permanent transfer to Swiss club Neuchâtel Xamax from Scottish side Aberdeen.
The 24-year-old forward joins Xamax after two years with Aberdeen, where he moved in 2024 from Hungarian club Újpest.
Ambrose found opportunities limited during his time in Scotland, managing just one goal in 15 league appearances for the Dons.
His move to Switzerland presents the striker with an opportunity to revive his career and secure more consistent first-team football.
Aberdeen head coach Stephen Robinson confirmed that the club agreed with Ambrose that a permanent move was the best option for his career.
“Peter has found regular first-team football difficult to come by for some time, so we felt this was the right opportunity for him to move on and play more regularly,” Robinson told the club’s official website.
“He was on loan in Hungary when I arrived at the Club in the spring and, when we spoke during the summer, we agreed that we would look to find a permanent solution that worked for both Peter and Aberdeen.
“He now has the opportunity to join a team who have started the season strongly and compete for regular first-team football.
“Peter leaves with our thanks for his efforts during his time at Aberdeen and our best wishes for the future.”
Ambrose will now hope to establish himself as a key player at Neuchâtel Xamax and make a strong impact in Switzerland.
