The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has fixed August 25, 2026, as the deadline for all registered intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj to submit their valid international passports.
The board disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday by its Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi, on behalf of the Director-General, Alhaji Abubakar Matawalle.
The directive, according to the board, is aimed at ensuring that the registration and documentation of intending pilgrims are completed within the required period ahead of the 2027 Hajj exercise.
Matawalle warned that pilgrims who fail to meet the deadline could lose their opportunity to participate in the pilgrimage.
“The DG has warned that any registered intending pilgrim who fails to submit his or her international passport on or before the stipulated deadline may not be allocated a Hajj seat,” the statement said.
The board explained that the deadline was particularly important because of the expected closure of the Saudi Arabian Hajj registration portal towards the end of August.
Matawalle therefore appealed to intending pilgrims who had yet to submit their passports to do so promptly through the designated channels.
He also warned that the board would not accept responsibility for any consequences arising from failure to comply with the deadline.
“All registered intending pilgrims are therefore advised to treat this directive with utmost urgency and ensure full compliance within the stipulated period,” the statement added.
The board urged prospective pilgrims to ensure that their international passports are valid and submitted on or before August 25 to avoid complications with their registration and documentation.
