The West African Examinations Council has released the results of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for school candidates.
The examination body announced the release on Wednesday through its official X account, informing candidates that the results were now available for checking.
“2026 WASSCE (SC) results have been released. Generate your PIN at waec.org and check your results on waecdirect.org,” WAEC stated.
According to the council, a total of 1,950,726 candidates sat for the examination, with 1,200,514 candidates, representing 61.54 per cent, obtaining credits in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
WAEC advised candidates to generate a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and serial number through its portal before accessing their results on the designated result-checking platform.
The council explained that candidates would be required to provide their examination number, the National Identification Number (NIN) used during registration, and other necessary details for One-Time Password (OTP) verification before their results could be accessed.
The 2026 WASSCE was conducted between April 21 and June 19, with about 1.96 million candidates participating from more than 24,200 secondary schools across the country.
While the majority of candidates wrote the examination using the conventional pen-and-paper method, WAEC noted that more schools adopted the Computer-Based Testing (CBT) format compared to previous years.
The release of the results comes about 45 days after the conclusion of the examination, in line with the council’s earlier assurance.
WAEC had also recently released the results of the 2026 First Series Computer-Based WASSCE for Private Candidates.
