The National Youth Service Corps has advised prospective corps members to avoid travelling at night as they prepare to report to orientation camps across the country.
The scheme gave the advice in a notice issued ahead of the forthcoming orientation exercise, stressing the need for prospective corps members to prioritise their safety while travelling to their assigned camps.
According to the NYSC, “Prospective Corps Members are advised not to travel at night to the orientation camp.”
The scheme also warned that candidates whose graduation dates on their call-up letters do not match the dates on their statements of results would not be allowed to complete registration at the orientation camps.
It explained that affected prospective corps members should resolve such discrepancies with their Student Affairs Officers before proceeding to camp.
“Prospective Corps Members with discrepancies in the date of graduation on their call-up letters and the date on their statement of results will not be registered in the orientation camp,” the statement said.
The NYSC further advised prospective corps members to ensure all required documents are completed before arriving at camp, including printing, signing and submitting their registration forms during the registration process.
The scheme also outlined the procedure for correcting dates of birth, directing applicants to obtain a 19- or 20-digit WAEC Verification PIN and initiate the correction through their NYSC dashboard.
According to the guidelines, applicants are expected to access the “Correction of Date of Birth” link, enter the WAEC Verification PIN, provide the required examination details, verify the information and submit the request.
The NYSC urged all prospective corps members to comply with the outlined guidelines to ensure a seamless registration process and avoid unnecessary challenges during the orientation exercise.
