Bayern to offer Olise new deal amid Real Madrid interest

Bayern Munich are preparing to offer Michael Olise a lucrative new contract in a bid to fend off growing interest from Europe’s elite clubs, including Real Madrid and Liverpool.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed a sensational campaign, playing a key role for the German champions after being named Bundesliga Player of the Year.

He is also currently impressing for France at the World Cup, further boosting his reputation on the global stage.

Although Olise only joined from Crystal Palace in a deal worth up to £51m in July 2024 and is tied to the club until 2029, speculation over his future continues to grow.

Real Madrid are reportedly considering a world-record £190m bid, while Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring his situation closely.

However, the Bundesliga champions are determined to keep him and are ready to reward him with a five-year contract extension.

The proposed deal would see his salary rise significantly from £13m per season to around £22m, making him one of the best-paid players at the club and ahead of what he could earn in Madrid.

Bayern Munich president Bayern Munich Herbert Hainer has reaffirmed the club’s stance, insisting they have no intention of selling key players.

Hainer recently told Bild, “Michael Olise is a Bayern Munich player who still has a long-term contract – and we are not a club that sells players. If Florentino Perez wants to send us an offer – which hasn’t happened yet – he can save himself the trouble.”

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is among those linked with a potential move, while Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain remain interested.

Former Bayern executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge also emphasized the club’s historic resistance to big-money offers, recalling past transfer approaches. He said, “Let me tell you a story from the past.”

“In 2009, we had an incredible offer from Chelsea for Franck Ribery. At the time, it would have been a new world transfer record. I then went to our then CFO, Karl Hopfner, and Uli Hoeness with this offer.”
