Tchouaméni denies rift with Valverde at Real Madrid

Real Madrid midfielder, Aurélien Tchouaméni, has denied claims of a serious fallout with teammate Federico Valverde, insisting that media reports significantly overstated the situation.

The French international acknowledged that disagreements can happen within a squad but stressed that there is no ongoing issue at the club, adding that everyone inside the dressing room remains united and focused.

Speaking to L’Équipe, Tchouaméni said the narrative outside the club did not reflect reality and that Real Madrid were fully aware of what actually transpired.

“What bothered me were the false stories that came out compared to what actually happened. I can’t do anything about that. The most important thing is that in the locker room, we’re cool, we’re relaxed,” Tchouaméni told L’Équipe.

“No matter what happens in your life, the problem is never as big as you think it is.”

“Like everything, today people talk about this, tomorrow they’ll talk about something else. You just have to get through the two or three days when there’s a buzz.

“This story got so big that for the first two or three days, it felt like it would never end. But actually, after two or three days, someone says something crazy or another story comes up and you move on,” said the player, who feels he has reached another level at Real Madrid this season.

He further clarified that training has continued normally between both players, although they have not featured together recently due to his minor injury setback during the last La Liga fixture.

“We trained together. We haven’t played together again, though, because for the last La Liga match, I had a muscle issue.

But people really need to understand: there is no problem. A lot of things happen in a locker room. We shook hands when he came back and we keep working together.”
