Nigeria international midfielder, Joe Aribo, has been linked with a surprise return to Scottish Premiership side Rangers following his departure from Southampton.
The 29-year-old recently became a free agent after his contract with Southampton expired, ending a four-year spell at St Mary’s Stadium.
Aribo initially joined Southampton from Rangers in a £10 million move in 2022 after establishing himself as a key figure during his first spell in Glasgow.
His final season at Southampton saw him struggle for consistent game time, which led to a loan move to Leicester City in January.
However, the midfielder also found opportunities limited at the King Power Stadium, where he managed just six appearances and only one start.
During his earlier stint with Rangers, Aribo enjoyed a highly successful three-year run, playing an important role as the club secured the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish Cup.
One of the most memorable highlights of his time in Scotland came during the 2022 UEFA Europa League final, where he scored in Rangers’ narrow defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.
