Teenage sensation Lamine Yamal has been crowned La Liga Player of the Season after playing a key role in Barcelona’s triumphant 2025-26 campaign.
The 18-year-old enjoyed a brilliant season under Barcelona manager Hansi Flick as the Catalan club finished top of the table with 94 points to reclaim the Spanish league title.
Yamal delivered impressive numbers throughout the campaign, scoring 16 goals and providing 11 assists to establish himself as one of the league’s most influential players.
The La Masia graduate also shared the Zarra Trophy with teammate Ferran Torres.
Barcelona’s dominance at the La Liga awards continued with Flick being named Coach of the Season for the second straight year after guiding the club to domestic glory.
The award also ensured Barcelona retained the league’s top individual honour after Raphinha won it in the previous season.
“Another award for the talent of Lamine Yamal. The FC Barcelona number 10 has been acknowledged as the 2025/26 LaLiga player of the season,” read the club’s official statement.
“The La Masia forward’s wizardry is evident. Every match he brought dribbling, goals and assists. He is the proverbial headache for opponent defences, who have to make a real effort to try to stop the blaugrana’s attacking threats.”
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Joan Garcia was recognised for his contributions at the other end of the pitch after winning La Liga’s Save of the Season award.
Garcia earned the honour for a spectacular one-handed stop to deny Pere Milla during Barcelona’s derby clash against Espanyol at the Cornella stadium.
The goalkeeper has been one of Barcelona’s standout performers since arriving at the club, producing several decisive displays during the title race.
His consistency was further rewarded with the Zamora Trophy after conceding only 21 league goals throughout the season.
