Pedro signed off from his Lazio career with a decisive winning goal as the Aquile came from behind to beat already-relegated Pisa 2-1, overturning Stefano Moreo’s opener and leaving the visitors bottom of the table.
Lazio, who endured a turbulent end to their campaign after defeat in the Coppa Italia final to Inter and a loss in the Derby della Capitale, finished in a tense atmosphere.
Head coach Maurizio Sarri was widely expected to depart, while president Claudio Lotito reportedly expressed frustration toward both players and supporters.
Even on Pedro’s farewell night, the ultras maintained their ongoing boycott of home matches.
The hosts were also heavily depleted, with Nuno Tavares, Nicolò Rovella and Kenneth Taylor suspended, while Mattia Zaccagni, Ivan Provedel and Edoardo Motta were sidelined through injury.
That left third-choice goalkeeper Alessio Furlanetto starting again after making his Serie A debut the previous week.
Pisa arrived in equally bleak form, already relegated after just one season back in the top flight and carrying an eight-match losing streak.
They were without Antonio Caracciolo due to suspension, while Daniel Denoon, Matteo Tramoni and Francesco Coppola were unavailable through injury.
The opening exchanges were lively, with Isak Vural firing just wide inside 30 seconds before Matteo Cancellieri capitalised on a defensive lapse, only to be denied by a sharp fingertip save from Adrian Semper.
Adam Marušić then came close on eight minutes, striking the outside of the near post after linking up with Cancellieri.
Pedro almost marked his farewell in style with a curling effort that Semper once again pushed away at full stretch.
However, it was Pisa who struck first, as Reda Belahyane was dispossessed in midfield, allowing Michel Aebischer to deliver for Stefano Moreo, who powered a free header home from close range.
The visitors nearly doubled their advantage immediately, but Furlanetto produced a crucial reaction stop to deny a close-range volley at the back post.
Lazio responded after the break, and Pedro delivered the moment of the night on his final appearance in the shirt, bending a superb left-footed strike into the far bottom corner from distance to level the match.
Luca Pellegrini tested Semper again on the break, while Mario Gila was forced off at half-time with a muscular issue. Pedro then turned provider, sending Tijjani Noslin through on goal, though Semper kept Pisa alive with another save using his feet.
The veteran Spaniard was later given a standing ovation as he left the pitch for the final time in a Lazio shirt. Pisa’s misery deepened when Mehdi Leris suffered a worrying ankle injury, and Boulaye Dia squandered a golden chance from close range after a Noslin pull-back.
Despite more heroics from Semper, including a fingertip stop to deny Daniel Maldini’s curling effort, Pisa still fell to a ninth straight defeat as Pedro’s farewell goal sealed the comeback for Lazio.
