Chelsea-bound manager, Xabi Alonso, has set out his early priorities as he gets ready to take over at the Premier League side.
In an interview with Chelsea’s official website, Alonso stressed that his immediate mission will be to instill a strong work ethic, shape the right dressing-room culture, and ultimately guide the team towards major honours.
“There is great talent in the Chelsea squad, and it’ll be my great honour to lead it,” he said. “Now my focus is on hard work, the right culture and winning trophies.”
The former Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen coach was confirmed as Chelsea boss following their FA Cup final loss to Manchester City at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
The 44-year-old is expected to officially begin his tenure on July 1, 2026, after signing a four-year contract with the west London club.
